I remember the first time I had hypnotherapy done on myself 10 years ago and I will be honest I wasn't keen on the idea. As I closed my eyes and started to listen to my hypnotherapist I found it hard to switch off the internal dialog and thoughts running through my mind and then my hypnotherapist placed his hand on my shoulder to Anchor a feeling of confidence, this surprised me and I found my eyes open and no longer wanting to continue.
I never thought 10 years later I would be a qualified Hypnotherapist and Life Coach practicing hypnotherapy on a daily basis with my clients.
Now I find myself excited having hypnotherapy on myself. I only have to close my eyes and I can go into a trance state within minutes drifting off in a relaxed and calming state allowing my thoughts to switch off.
SO WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?
Hypnotherapy is an intervention that is used to create a state of focused attention and increased suggestibility. Where a person will relax comfortably whilst the hypnotherapist talks to the subconscious mind allowing them to increase motivation or alter behaviour patterns. Using guided relaxation, intense concentration and focused attention to heighten state of awareness. By using hypnotherapy this approach uses the relaxed state to explore a possible psychological root cause of a problem.
Hypnotherapy can be an effective method for coping with stress and anxiety, to treat conditions and change habits. The goal for hypnotherapy is to help a client learn to better control their state of awareness
